Kumaoni Nath Designs

Kumaoni Nath or Nathuli is a gigantic piece of jewellery that is crafted in gold and worn in the left nostril. This gorgeous mammoth size nose ring has minimal work done on it. Unlike Garhwali Nath, the Kumaoni Nath doesn’t have intricate work done on it rather it is simple yet elegant, which draws the attention towards it. In the older days, women used to adorn their nathuli daily. Since wearing such a big nath was a heavy duty task, the newer generations replaced it with the petite naths or laungs (nose-pins) that are easy to work with. But the humongous traditional design hasn’t lost its appeal and many Pahadi women can be seen embracing the ethnic and opulent Kumaoni Nath in weddings and other auspicious events.
